*Ofsted no longer makes an overall effectiveness judgment in inspections of state-funded schools. A five-point grading scale, including a new “exceptional” grade was introduced in November 2025.

About the school

As part of the South York Multi-Academy Trust, Fulford School is now in consultation to formally merge with STAR Multi-Academy Trust.
Every student who joins the sixth form is allocated a tutor to help with the transition, and guide them through the post-16 pastoral programme.
A large-scale renovation of the learning resource centre is nearly complete, boosted by a donation from the Pavers Foundation, and school and parent-led fundraising through bake sales, dress-down days, sponsored runs and readathons.
Fulford School was awarded Comprehensive School of the Year in the North 2025 and Comprehensive School of the Decade 2021
