- Featherstone High, in Southall, west London, is a mixed comprehensive school that converted to academy status in 2011.
- Students are placed into one of six houses which represent Featherstone’s values of care, challenge, inclusion, partnership, resilience and respect.
- The school offers pupils the opportunity to take on leadership roles and additional responsibilities such as helping in the school garden and joining the student council. Other extracurricular options can be found in the award-winning sports centre, where there is a climbing wall, dance studio, floodlit pitches and a large fitness suite. The school also runs an annual science week featuring demonstrations, workshops and an animal roadshow. Guest speakers have included the British professor and pioneer of IVF treatment Robert Winston.
- In the sixth-form centre there is another library space and a café, and its students take part in charity events and community projects as well as acting as reading buddies for younger pupils. The FHS Scholars programme supports sixth-formers through the application process for Russell Group and Oxbridge institutions, as well as those for paid apprenticeships, or medicine and dentistry courses.
