About the school

  • Farlington was founded in 1896 and moved to its present site, Strood Park, in 1955. The Jacobean and Georgian mansion is surrounded by 33 acres of parkland.
  • Formerly a girls’ school, it first admitted boys in September 2018 and has been fully co-ed since 2021, when its first male head teacher, James Passam, joined the school.
  • It is part of the Bellevue Education Group, which also includes Holmwood House in Essex and the Webber Independent School in Milton Keynes.
  • Fine art is a particular focus at Farlington, and students recently found success in national competitions run by the Independent Schools Association and the Royal Society of British Artists.
  • Boarding facilities were upgraded for the 2024-25 academic year, with larger dorms replaced by single, double and triple rooms and a new communal kitchen.
