“The school seeks to develop the academic, personal and physical potential of each pupil and to uphold the highest standards of academic teaching and pastoral care. Pupils throughout the school make excellent progress over time, and levels of achievement are high … They demonstrate excellent levels of self-confidence and self-awareness, have a clear understanding of right and wrong and show exemplary behaviour around the school. Their social skills are excellent, they relish responsibility and contribute effectively to school life, and display a genuine concern and respect for each other.” There were short visits in 2022 and 2023.

About the school

  • The co-ed day school was attended by the actor Matthew Goode and describes itself as a “school of great character”. 
  • Trips and sport are embedded into the curriculum and a commitment to learning outside the classroom helps pupils to develop independence, resilience and curiosity. 
  • Clubs for Airfix, coding, Warhammer and electronics are among the more than 100 activities on offer. Older pupils can join the cadets and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. 
  • The Extended Project Qualification, a lifeguard qualification and Btec sport are all offered alongside A-levels. 
  • Scholarships are available at 11+, 13+ and 16+ entries and can be supported by a bursary of up to 100 per cent of fees.
