- The history of Emanuel begins in 1594, with a £300 bequest from Elizabeth I’s lady-in-waiting Anne Dacre. The school moved to its present site in Wandsworth, southwest London, in 1883. Originally boys-only, it has been open to girls since 1995.
- Emanuel won the Talk Education Award 2024 for innovation in equity, diversity and inclusion.
- The sporting facilities include 26 acres of playing fields, a full-size all-weather pitch, ten cricket nets and a boat house at Barnes Bridge on the Thames.
- Among a stellar cast of Old Emanuels are Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who invented of the World Wide Web, the chef Michel Roux Jr, and Mark Baker, the co-creator of Peppa Pig.
- One in four pupils qualifies for a bursary, which can cover up to 100 per cent of fees.
