- Edgbarrow opened in 1959 and converted to a mixed academy in 2018 as a founder-member of the Corvus Learning Trust. It is based in Crowthorne, bordering the Wildmoor Heath Nature Reserve.
- The school values are: ready, respectful, safe and positive. Effort and achievement are rewarded with points, which can be “spent” in the Edgshop.
- There are lots of opportunities for student leadership: pupils can become peer mentors, prefects, form or charity reps, or join the active school council.
- The pupil-led eco team is working on a range of projects around the school, including bug hotels, wildflower areas and renovating a pond. Students attend a mock climate change summit and have represented the school at a regional sustainability conference.
- Options for GCSEs include business studies, economics, photography, product design and sociology. Students can also take vocational qualifications in business, catering and engineering, among other subjects.
