Excellent - good

About the school

  • Dulwich College, a day and boarding school for boys, counts the author PG Wodehouse and Nigel Farage, the Clacton MP and Reform UK leader, among its alumni.
  • Pupils have access to more than 50 interest groups, ranging in subject from aviation to medical research. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme is offered alongside Scouts and the cadets, and trips have included a rowing camp, language exchanges and World Challenge adventures. About 200 pupils volunteer weekly as part of an independent and state school partnership programme.
  • More than 100 hours of timetabled wellbeing sessions cover age-appropriate topics, while the Yelcho Room, a safe space in the medical centre, is open every break time for pupils to consult with counsellors.
  • The school offers the Extended Project Qualification and lower-sixth pupils study bespoke, university seminar-style courses designed by staff from Dulwich College, Sydenham High School GDST and James Allen’s Girls’ School. Every upper-sixth pupil takes liberal studies courses in addition to A-levels.
  • Bursaries are available and a hardship fund can give temporary support.
