*Ofsted no longer makes an overall effectiveness judgment in inspections of state-funded schools. A five-point grading scale, including a new “exceptional” grade was introduced in November 2025.

About the school

Pupils are assigned to one of six houses — Brontë, Curie, Nightingale, Pankhurst, Teresa or Rosa — which include both teachers and students from every year group and compete in a variety of events, ranging from sports to bake-offs, to win house points that contribute to winning the annual House Cup.
Music, drama and sports play an important role in students’ lives. The school has five choirs, two orchestras and instrumental chamber ensembles.
Alumnae include the TV presenter Fern Britton and the lawyer, activist and author Amal Clooney.
