- The oldest school buildings are part of a military hospital constructed in 1797 by Napoleonic prisoners of war. Blocks are named after notable people with links to Plymouth, including Isambard Kingdom Brunel, Sir Francis Drake and the brothers Joseph and Charles Francis Hansom, who designed Plymouth Cathedral.
