- Derby High School began in a semi-detached house in 1892 and today educates 700 boys and girls aged 3-18.
- A diverse programme of extracurricular activities enables all students to take part in sport, music and drama, and develop new skills in areas such as science, photography and computer coding. Students join day or residential trips to the theatre, galleries or the Yorkshire Moors, and optional trips abroad can include skiing in Austria or a language trip to Berlin.
- The school prides itself on the quality of pastoral care it offers, and believes that prioritising good communication with parents is the most effective way it can offer students appropriate guidance and support.
- Academic and co-curricular scholarships are available for year 7 and sixth-form entry, in addition to means-tested bursaries.
