- Coombe Girls’ School educates 1,500 girls aged 11 to 18, having been established in 1955. Girls are encouraged to be “open-minded and to strive for academic, sporting and cultural excellence”.
- The sixth form is split across the girls’ school site and nearby Coombe Boys’ School’s site, with both A-levels and Level 3 vocational qualifications offered.
- About 85 per cent of students progress from Coombe to higher education.
- Clubs offered include chess, photography, poetry and a range of musical ensembles, while sporting activities range from badminton to netball and mixed martial arts.
- Old girls include the children’s author Dame Jacqueline Wilson, who opened the Wilson Building at the school in 2017.
