- Established in 1710 by the merchant and MP Edward Colston, the school elected to drop his name in 2022 because of his links with the slave trade. The new name derives from the original institution’s 1991 merger with the all-girls Collegiate School in Winterbourne. The school motto is “Go and do thou likewise”.
- Thirty acres of sports fields and woodland include six rugby pitches, two cricket squares, a floodlit all-weather hockey pitch, six courts for tennis and four for netball, a fitness suite, and facilities for squash, badminton, basketball and table tennis.
- The school, for day pupils aged 3-18, has a strong rugby tradition and its alumni include the England internationals Olly Barkley and Amber Reed.
