About the school

  • Under the leadership programme at Cokethorpe, Witney, pupils regularly direct activities in the co-curricular programme. As a Microsoft Showcase School, it is recognised as being a leading school for the applications of technology in the classroom, helping to bring education to life.
  • There are more than 160 clubs, societies and activities for pupils to choose from under the headings: cerebral, physical, creative, hobbies and service. Many are run by members of the sixth form with only minimal staff support.
  • Pastoral care is based around the house system. Pupils have the same tutor from first form to fifth form, and they meet daily in small groups. Cokethorpe also has a timetabled wellbeing programme and a school counsellor, who runs a successful peer mentoring programme.
  • Academic scholarships are available, as are awards in art, design and technology (DT), drama, music and sport. Members of the lower sixth form can also apply for one of the school's leadership grants. Means-tested bursaries are available on a discretionary basis.
