- Claremont Fan Court School was founded as Claremont School in 1922, and moved to its current site in 1931; in 1978, Claremont School merged with the all-boys Fan Court School in Chertsey and became a coeducational school.
- As the senior school has grown, class sizes have remained small. The senior school has moved to a vertical house structure where tutor groups mix pupils of different ages to create a trusted environment. Pupils who join the school at 11 will have a tutor who stays with them for five years.
- The co-curricular offering is broad, with activities ranging from Ultimate Frisbee, food and food science clubs to debating.
- Sixth-form students can participate in the “vInspired” volunteering award scheme, a UCAS-endorsed award for 10, 50 or 100 hours of flexible volunteering.
- Means-tested bursaries are available, as are academic and co-curricular scholarships.
