- The school was established in the capital’s commercial heart in 1442 and has occupied its Thamesside site since 1986. Boys aged 10-18 are encouraged to leave City of London School kind, aware and ready.
- London’s historic and cultural riches are right on the doorstep, offering plenty of opportunities for pupils to develop their cultural understanding outside the classroom through trips and visits.
- There is a gym, sports hall, pool and all-weather pitch on site and the playing fields are nine miles away in Grove Park, Lewisham.
- Bursaries are available to pay up to 100 per cent of fees, as part of the school’s philosophy. CLS runs one of the most successful school charity appeals in the country, raising more than £132,000 for World Child Cancer in 2024.
- The writer Kingsley Amis won a scholarship to attend the school. The list of Old Citizens includes one former prime minister — Herbert Asquith — and the Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe.
