“The school aims to develop pupils’ full academic, creative and sporting talents, within the context of social awareness … The quality of the pupils’ academic and other achievements is excellent ... Pupils gain valuable skills from their participation in the wide-ranging extracurricular programme provided by the school … Pupils show excellent levels of self-knowledge and self-confidence and understand how to improve their own learning. [They] have excellent social skills … and there is a strong moral awareness evident in pupils’ personal development … Pupils demonstrate excellent decision-making skills from a young age … [and] across the school they have a clear understanding of diversity in wider British society.” There was a short visit in 2023.

About the school

  • Churcher’s College is a co-ed day school in Petersfield and Liphook in Hampshire. 
  • Its pupils run an active Charities Committee, which has previously partnered with the Royal British Legion, Save The Children and Canine Partners.
  • Trips are organised in the UK and beyond, including to Iceland, Austria, Paris, Germany, Spain and Greece. Pupils also take part in national competitions such as the Greenpower motorsport challenge and Model UN, as well as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme, the Combined Cadet Force, the Devizes to Westminster canoe marathon and the Ten Tors hiking challenge. 
  • The school’s teams are national and regional champions and finalists in netball, hockey, rugby, swimming, athletics, cross-country, water polo, cricket, kayaking and equestrian sport. Musicians perform at outdoor events, cabarets and on international tours. 
  • Scholarships are awarded for excellence and exceptional contribution in academic study and music. Bursaries are means-tested.
