- The co-ed day and boarding school was founded in 1541 by Henry VIII on the site of a former friary in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons National Park). Its motto is Possunt quia posse videntur or "They achieve because they believe they can".
- Christ College’s 1st XV were crowned “champion of champions” in the competition to determine the best Welsh schoolboy rugby team in 2023. And during the school’s annual Giving Day in 2024, students and staff helped to raise more than £21,000 and collected hundreds of donations for the local food bank.
- As well as traditional sports, for outdoor enthusiasts there is canoeing, golf, kayaking, abseiling and horse riding, plus the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. Musicians have plenty of orchestras and ensembles to choose from, and there is a long list of clubs covering interests from art and photography to railway modelling, board games and debating.
- Students can also study for Btec diplomas in performing arts, sport and information technology, and take the Extended Project Qualification.
- Christ College Brecon now admits children from the age of four. Scholarships are offered on entry to Years 7 and 9 and the sixth form.
