- Calday Grange Grammar School, founded in 1636, is a selective all-boys grammar; girls have been admitted to its sixth form since 1985. It was assessed as good by Ofsted in 2024.
- The school’s vision is to “develop the whole child to broaden their horizons, elevate their ambitions and furnish them with the attributes to succeed in the future".
- Its sixth form, the largest on Wirral, will offer 24 A-level subjects for 2026, including Chinese, economics, law and Russian in addition to the standard options. In 2025 32.5 per cent of A-level entries achieved A*-A grades and 60.5 per cent achieved A*-B grades.
- The school is working towards gaining the Rainbow Flag award and is committed to “improving the lives of all young people we work with, through a focused initiative to support lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans inclusion”.
- Former pupils include the banker Sir Philip May, the husband of the former prime minister Theresa May.
