- Established in 2011 after a long local campaign in northwest Bristol, this school is ambitious for its pupils aged 11-18, who are drawn from a diverse community.
- The house system is a focal point for academic, cultural and sporting competition. Students also have opportunities to take on leadership roles in the house parliament and older pupils mentor younger ones. Each house has an annual fundraising target to support a local charity.
- After-school clubs explore drama and art, hair and beauty, philosophy, rewilding and woodcraft as well as a wide range of sports. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme is very popular from Year 9.
- Music lessons are available in composition and theory as well as voice and a full range of instruments — piano, guitar and bass, strings, brass, woodwind and percussion.
- Sixth-formers exceeded the national average in 2024 with 31 per cent of A-level grades at A*/A. Forty per cent were accepted by Russell Group universities compared with a national average of 27 per cent. BTec business and health and social care courses are available as well as A-levels.
