- Founded as a girls’ school in 1714, the Blue Coat Church of England School and Music College, in the heart of Coventry, is a mixed state school with academy status.
- Music and the performing arts are key focuses and the school has dedicated theatre staff at its Blue Coat Theatre. Each year, there are at least three dramatic performances and in 2023 pupils presented their production of The Merchant of Venice at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.
- Blue Coat has been recognised as a lead school for the Heart of England Music Hub, supporting schools across Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull to provide musical opportunities for children and young people.
- Students are involved in charity fundraising and volunteering. There’s a regular reward system that recognises attendance and punctuality, as well as effort, high-quality work and consistent service to the local community.
