- As part of a group of independent schools based in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, Berkhamsted School has a coeducational nursery (from five months) and junior school, splitting into single-sex classes from age 11-16 and converging in a mixed sixth form which has just gained a new centre.
- Pupils can “have it all”, says the school, on a small rural campus in the Chiltern Hills, close to London, with access to extensive sports facilities and flexi-boarding. Within the historic buildings, there is a high-tech approach. Pupils are nurtured whether they are highly academic or all-rounders.
- The school was a finalist in 2024 in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards for diversity, equality, inclusion and justice, and nominated in the mind and mental health and sustainability categories in the School House Awards, and for the Muddy Stilettos Prepared for Life Award.
- Notable former pupils include the novelist Graham Greene, the biographer Sir Peter Quennell and the actor Stephen Campbell Moore.
