About the school

  • Bancroft’s, in Woodford Green, east London, strives to cater for all passions and interests, ensuring a balance between academic and co-curricular life. Sixth-formers are encouraged to initiate and lead some of the 250 clubs and societies, which range from mindfulness and current affairs to technical theatre.
  • During Bancroft's Festival Week the entire school breaks free from the usual timetable to engage in community projects, trips, sports, music, drama and team games.
  • The house system sits at the heart of the pastoral care framework, and tutors and house staff are key points of contact for pupils and parents.
  • The school has recently redeveloped and refurbished the sixth-form centre.
  • Assisted places are provided for children of high ability whose parents may not otherwise be able to afford the full fees.
