- Backwell School near Bristol is part of the Lighthouse Schools Partnership.
- As well as A-levels, sixth-form pupils can complete the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and a range of Cambridge Technical courses.
- Outside of their studies students can take part in the annual drama production, represent the school in the Model United Nations club, and volunteer to work with younger students and in the wider community.
- During the summer term the school suspends the normal timetable for a week, allowing pupils to take part in trips and activities tailored to their year group. This “enrichment week” is “an important aspect of Backwell School life, giving students the opportunity to enjoy new experiences, learn different skills and build strong bonds with their peers”.
