- The only girls’ grammar in north Buckinghamshire, Aylesbury High opened in 1960 when the original Aylesbury Grammar, founded in 1598, split into two single-sex schools. These days they join forces for musical activities and concerts.
- More than 25 subjects are on the curriculum and over 100 clubs take place throughout the week at lunchtime or after school, presenting plenty of opportunities to develop new skills and have fun. There is a waiting list to spend time with Cap, the school’s beloved therapy dog.
- Sports groups range from trampolining to football, free “come and play” clubs welcome all abilities, and there is a charge for professional coaching for competitive teams.
- The girls have a strong record in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme and a busy calendar of trips, including recent German and Swedish exchanges, an art trip to Barcelona and geography field trip to Iceland.
