- In Stanmore in the London Borough of Harrow, Avanti House School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form that forms part of the Avanti Schools Trust.
- Established in 2012, it became the UK’s first state-funded Hindu secondary school and one of the largest free school projects of its time.
- Alongside a traditional academic curriculum, students study distinctive subjects including Sanskrit; philosophy, religion and ethics; and meditation and yoga, reflecting the school’s Hindu faith ethos.
- The school occupies a modern £20 million campus equipped with state-of-the-art science laboratories, computer suites, design and technology workshops, and high-quality arts and sports facilities.
- Avanti House School serves hot, freshly cooked vegetarian lunches every school day, prepared on-site by its catering partner, Govinda’s. In 2025 Ajay Kumar, the managing director of Govinda’s, was invited by the Department for Education to join its Food School Team Advisory Board.
