- Founded in 1898 as a school for young women, Ashford is now coeducational with in the region of 1,000 boarding and pupils aged nursery-age to 18. Today, the school is run by the United Church Schools Trust.
- A comprehensive approach is taken to student wellbeing. This includes a range of talking therapies, yoga, meditation and mindfulness sessions. In addition, pupils who complete the six-week wellbeing programme receive the Wellbeing Champion Award.
- In 2015 the school’s international centre opened to meet the needs of pupils who are not native English speakers.
- Academic, art, sport, drama and music scholarships are available for years 7, 9 and 12.
