What the school inspection says

Date of report
2022
Verdict *
Outstanding
“Pupils and students show a genuine care and respect for each other. They leave the school remarkably well placed to thrive in a modern society ... Teachers’ effective use of assessment strategies means that pupils and students are reflective, highly motivated and independent learners ... Pupils and students also talked eagerly about the clubs that they attend, such as: coding club, origami folding, the politics society, the Hindu society, gardening club, hip-hop-dance crew, play reading, Indian dance and Latin club.”

About the school

  • Generations of women have been educated to lead and shape their communities since the school was founded in 1910. Many pupils are keen to join the school’s diversity, anti-bullying, sports and culture ambassador teams, which organise events for their peers. To develop their cultural capital, pupils are exposed to new experiences on a wide range of trips in all subject areas.
  • More than 30 clubs are available, fostering interests from Latin to manga. At all levels sporting endeavour is encouraged, and artistic flair is encouraged through play-reading and creative writing workshops. At Stem clubs pupils can discover how to create art through computer coding and learn practical skills in design and construction. Gardening clubs encourage the ecologists of the future.
  • All pupils are part of a form tutor group and take part in a programme to engage with the school’s values: unity, vision, co-operation, empowerment, perseverance and selflessness.
