- The coeducational selective state school for 11 to 18-year-olds is located in Alcester, Warwickshire, a 30-minute train journey from Stratford-upon-Avon.
- Ofsted’s most recent report in 2022 stated that AGS is “a thriving and happy place” and “pupils’ behaviour is exemplary. They treat everyone with courtesy and respect those with different lifestyles and backgrounds.”
- The school has an AGS Life Programme, recognising that students need to develop practical skills to equip them for adulthood. Each pupil in years 7 to 13 has weekly sessions on topics such as cooking healthy meals, first aid, changing a tyre and personal safety.
- Sixth-form bursaries are available for those in financial need and can cover compulsory school trips, book purchases and university visits.
